Jose Horace Esquibel, age 89, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Joel Lancaster officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW.
Mr. Esquibel was preceded in death by his wife, Ilse Esquibel, a daughter, Elke Morrett, and a son, Ralf Esquibel.
Survivors include his son, Bobby Esquibel (Sonya) Enterprise, AL; grandchildren, Josie Esquibel; Jen Yocum; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Romona Ortiz; Joan Garcia; Trinney Barela; numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard Alan Hisey
Date of Passing: June 25, 2019
Howard Alan Hisey, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Towne House Retirement Community in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Stafford, KS to the late Harold B. and Vera Edith (Schenkel) Hisey. He was in the United States Navy Seabees for 28 years, retiring as CEC Lieutenant. He was selected as a volunteer on the wintering over party at McMurdo Sound, Antarctic (1955 – 57). In 1956, he was a member of the 23 man Seabee Team that constructed the first facilities built at the South Pole. Howard had three tours with Mobile Construction Battalion’s in Vietnam and four years as Contract Officer in Cairo, Egypt. Upon retiring from the Navy, he entered the private sector as an upper level manager of an international engineering company, retiring in 1997. He married Billie Faye Pearce on August 4, 1958 and she preceded him in death 2014. Howard was a member of the American Legion in Avilla, Post #240 and the Antarctic Deep Freeze Association. Surviving are his children, Connie (Michael) DeWald and Jimmie (Laura) Hisey; three grandchildren, Kevin (Kimberly) DeWald, Michelle (Chad) Sutton, and Marisa Hisey; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Beth Pickens. Diane Holland
Date of Passing: October 28, 2015
On Saturday, 24 October, I came home from a memorial service, to find Diane down on the garage floor. A quick check identified a probable stroke, including unintelligible speech. HVA and RFD responded quickly, and HVA/RFD personnel got her to Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, with great dispatch.
The strokes (5) were catastrophic, and devastating. With constant monitoring, and evaluation, consultation with Neurology staff, it was determined that she could not recover from these strokes and would be blind and in a vegetative state, if she survived the next few hours, and that the likelihood of survival as a functional, human being, was slim to none.
Her daughter, grand daughters, and my son and daughter were all called in. Wednesday morning, 28 October 2015, my anchor, my foundation, my compass in life, left this world to join her parents and other loved ones in God’s home.
The family and I wish to thank all who have contacted us, in particular our HVA family, Rush Fire, Gates Pipe Band, MCSO, and finally our MILWIT family. Your prayers and well wishes have meant so much.
Per Dianes’ instructions, there will be no funeral and her remains will be cremated and scattered in the spring.

Billie Faye Hisey

Billie Faye Hisey, 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in Winter Haven, Fla. Born in Burkett, Texas, Billie loved Christmas decorating and was known as “Mrs. Christmas”. She was a member of Lake Ashton Veterans Association Auxiliary and MILWIT Winnebago Club. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Howard “Al” Hisey of Winter Haven, Fla.; children, Connie (Michael) DeWald and Jimmie (Laura) Hisey, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kevin (Kim) DeWald, Michelle (Chad) Sutton and Marisa Hisey, and three grandchildren in Florida; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Breuster Pearce.

Stanley “Mark” Edmondson

THE VILLAGES, FL — Stanley “Mark” Edmondson, 64, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
Mr. Edmondson was born in Newport News, Va. He moved to The Villages in 2005. He retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his many friends in The Villages. He enjoyed traveling and RV-ing.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; daughter, Laurel Frye, Yorktown, Va.; son, Michael Bohnenkamp, Key Largo; parents, Meredith and Frances Edmondson, Seaford, Va.; brothers Rodney Edmondson, Nashville, Tenn., and Brian Edmondson, Yorktown, Va.; sister, Amy Greenwood, Seaford; several nieces; one nephew; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at New Covenant United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Covenant United Methodist Church, 3470 Woodridge Drive, The Villages, FL 32162.
A private interment will take place at a later date.
Harvey Dean Duffing
Date of Passing: June 23, 2013
Harvey Dean Duffing, 62, of Red Wing, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born July 27, 1950, in Red Wing, to Charles and Carmen (Bischoff) Duffing. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1968. Following school, he served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and later served in the Minnesota National Guard, with a total of 37 years of service. On October 14, 1972, he married Jeanne Otto at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Trier. He worked for Rivera Cabinets and Culligan before starting with the City of Red Wing, where he was employed for 35 years, retiring in August of 2008. Harvey was a member of the Church of St. Joseph; Knights of Columbus; Burnson-Lillyblad VFW #1218, where he was a past commander and also a member of the VFW Clown Club; Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54; Minnesota Good Samaritan RV Club where he had served as state director and the Redmen Club. He enjoyed camping, traveling, volunteering and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanne; 3 children, Christy (Mark) Aufderhar of Ellsworth, Amanda (David) Pete of Red Wing and Nicholas (Beth) Duffing of Red Wing; 5 grandchildren, Lidia, Kya, Kendra, Joshua, Kayleigh and 2 granddaughters due in September; 2 brothers, Charles “Duff” (Alida) Duffing, of Red Wing, Ernest (Gloria) Duffing of Hastings; 2 sisters, Faye Lindblom of Vasa and Susan Kirchner of Red Wing and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Resurrection was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial was at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon or the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Steve Barrett
Date of Passing: November 18, 2012
With deep regret we inform the members of the passing of Steve Barrett. Steve was a Past President of MILWIT. As many of you know, Steve had severe health problems for the past several years. He was recently admitted to hospital in El Paso and quickly went downhill. He entered into hospice about 11/11/12 and passed away Sunday, 11/18/12.
I received this note from Cindy:
Steve passed away Sunday morning in Hospice. I’m thankful for him that he’s finally at peace both physically and mentally. The last few months have been hard on us both and he was upset that he was causing so many problems for me.
He’ll be cremated and this spring the kids and I will meet up again in DC and he’ll be interred in Arlington. That’s their choice and I’m fine with it. My mom is buried there along with a cousin and other far reaching relatives.
Both kids are here and my dad, so I’m not alone. The kids will be leaving in the next few days but my dad is here for awhile. We also got a rescue Great Dane a few months ago so I have her underfoot along with the cats.

Ken Chapis

Ken Chapis passed away on August 28th this year after a long fight with Leukemia. His wife Lyn said he soldiered on bravely to the very end. She said that Ken held fond and lasting good memories of his MILWIT friends and our rallies.
Ken was born May 15th, 1945 in Chicago to Michael J. and Lillian R. (Fiske) Chapis. He graduated from Central Catholic HS. in Canton, Oh. Ken received his BS. from Yankton College in South Dakota, and his Masters Degree from Wright State University in Dayton Ohio.
After retiring from the Army, Ken worked as a guidance counselor at Lexington H.S. and Crestline H.S. For many years, Ken was a volunteer for and President of the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Assoc. For 20 years, Ken and Lyn operated the Beam Rd. Berry Farm in Crestline.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Lyn (Gatchell) Chapis; and son, Drew Chapis of Columbus, Oh. Lyn wrote that at this time there are no charitable agencies to which we can donate remembrances in Ken’s honor. Allen Mooney
Date of Passing: June 26, 2012
Allen Ronald Mooney passed away on June 26, 2012 at the age of 83. He was the son of Ronald J. and Beatrice Mooney, born on April 12, 1929, in Laconia, New Hampshire. He attended Belmont, NH schools. Although, he most recently called West Columbia, SC home, he also felt at home wherever their motor home took them, making lasting friendships along the way. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia where he was a member, conducted by Revs. Lavaughn Keisler and A. Glenn Boland. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with full military honors will be held at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. Pallbearers will be step-grandsons John Bell, Dan Crouch, Gary Hooker, Adam Morrison, Joel Boyce, and Keith Dittl. Crucifer will be step-grandson, Leland Morrison.
Allen is a veteran of three wars, having served in the US Navy and Navy Reserve from 1943-1949 and then in the US Air Force from 1949-1967. SSGT Mooney served in the USAF with the Strategic Air Command as a crew chief flight line mechanic. After retiring from the military, Allen worked for the US Postal Service in New Hampshire until his retirement in 1973. He loved traveling in his motor home and keeping in touch with his friends through the Mil Wit’s RV Club; was a loyal race car fan; and loved keeping up with the Gamecocks. He was proud of his military career, and had a great respect for all military. He loved his country; he was scheduled to go on the April 2012 Honor Flight sponsored by MCEC but was unable to go due to failing health. He loved being Pa Allen to his 14 great grandchildren, and especially loved hiding Easter eggs filled with surprises each year.
Allen will be greatly missed by his South Carolina family, including his wife, Margaret Rikard Whittle Mooney and her children: daughters and son-in-laws, Ann Whittle Bell (David), Carol Whittle Sease (Paul), Kay Whittle Boyce (Don), Rhonda Whittle Morrison (Venning); four granddaughters and three grandsons; 14 great-grandchildren who loved their Pa Allen; and his best four-legged friend Molly. Allen is also survived by five sons: Robin (Cheryl) Mooney of Brightridge, RI, John (Lisa) Mooney of Galloway, NJ, Joe Mooney of Groveton, NH, Allen and Michael Mooney; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Mark (Ruth) Mooney of Belmont, NH, Tom (Barbara) Mooney of Ormond Beach, FL, and Peter (Suzie) Mooney of Massachusetts; and by sisters, Nellie Grant of Tilton, NH, Kathleen (Wyman) Ordway of Andover, NH, Colleen (Roger) Amsden of Gilford, NH, and Susan (Ralph) Ouellette, of Gilford, NH. Besides his parent, Allen is predeceased by his first wife, Sue E. Mooney; and by siblings Michael Mooney, Joanne Mooney and Linda Cofske. Linda Cope

Linda Cope, Wife of Jim Cope, 16 June 2012.
Mrs. Linda Lea Cope, 69, Crawfordsville, IN, passed away Thursday, June 14, at 9:55 p.m. at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born August 28, 1942, in Crawfordsville, to Jesse and Velma (Runyon) Howard. She married James O. Cope, November 5, 1960, in Wingate. He survives.
Mrs. Cope was a homemaker; a 1960 graduate of Coal Creek Central High School; and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Christopher (Michelle) Cope, Crawfordsville; Kimberly (Michael) Bridgers, Raleigh, North Carolina; and Lea Ann Cope, Norfolk, Virginia. Also surviving are sisters: Donna Pruett, Crawfordsville; Betty (Keith) Light, New Market; Jane (Mike) Armstrong, Crawfordsville; brother: Don (Sheila) Howard, Wingate; grandchildren: Heather Spivey, Madison Cope, Mason Cope, and David Allemang. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation was selected with a memorial service to be held on Thursday, June 21, at 6 p.m. at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. Sandy Taylor

Sandy Taylor, wife of Grant Taylor, Rochester, N.H.- Sandra L. Taylor, 71, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 14, 2012 at her home in Lilac City Estates.
Born January 18, 1941 in Hoosick Falls, NY. She was the daughter of the late Clayton and Elsie (Gifford) Lebarron.
She met her husband at Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Albany, NY while he was in the U. S. Coast Guard. She was active in military wives clubs throughout his thirty-one years of service. She was active in the church community at each duty station. The couple finally settled in New Hampshire, where she attended the True Memorial Baptist Church.
Sandy loved animals. She volunteered at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society for many years. She also loved to travel, spending much of her time traveling and camping. Sandy was also an avid bowler with a style all her own. She was an Avon lady for over twenty-five years and enjoyed her outings with the ladies of the Red Hat Society.
Sandy loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by her husband of almost fifty years Grant C. Taylor Sr. of Rochester. Her son Grant Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Santa Rosa, CA, her daughter Sheila of San Ramon, CA, and her son Dan and his wife Amy of Alexandria VA. She loved her five grandchildren, Ashley, Kathleen, Maria, Austin, and Scott.
She is survived by her siblings Lois Phelps and her husband Ron of Ballston Spa, NY, Janice Tate and her husband Jerry of Hoosick Falls, NY, her sister Clara LeBarron and partner Jim Kirk of Albany, NY, and her brother Doug LeBarron and his wife Claudia of Raleigh, NC.
She was preceded in death by her brother Dennis LeBarron.

Ilse A. Esquibel of Enterprise, AL, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, at her home in Enterprise. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Endrihs officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time.
Mrs. Esquibel was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Klara Albrecht of Mannheim, Germany; and a son, Ralf Esquibel.

Ed Lussier

Edward N. Lussier was born August 18th, 1931 in Salem, MA and returned home to the Lord on March 31st, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Hamidas and Delphine (St. Pierre) Lussier and his brothers Phillip, Joseph (Butch) and George Lussier. Ed leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Josie; his children Deborah (Jim) Demers, Michael (Olivia) Lussier, Kathryn (Stephen) Smith, James (Chong Hui) Lussier, and Linda (Tim) Burroughs; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Edward retired as a TSgt from the US Air Force after 20 years of distinguished service. He also retired from 20 years of service with the AZ State Dept. of Economic Security. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 19644 N. 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027 (7th Ave just south of the 101). Tom Hettle

Thomas E. Hettle made it to his final camping spot on March 17, 2012. He was born June 3, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1969, retiring a Lt. Colonel. Serving tours in Korean and Vietnam Wars. Awarded two purple hearts and silver star. In the following years, his career stops included Johnson Pontiac, American Family Insurance, and Winnebago Industries.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor, his three sons (Michael J. (Helen), Patrick T. (Mary), and John J. (Janet), five grandchildren (Chan, Cynthia, Beau, Aaron, and Joseph), nine great grandchildren (Caitlin, Evan, Eligh, Brandon, Ben, Alex, Abigail, Liliana, and Levigh) , one great great grandson Brayden, and brother Larry (Jackie).
He was preceded in death by his father John Hettle, mother Mable Hettle, and the love of his life Donna, his wife of 56 years, and grandson Michael.
His life was filled with travel, hunting, fishing, golf, and motorhome camping adventures. Despite many serious health issues, he was determined to live a full life. He was a true warrior in all he did. He loved his country and the military.
A viewing and Rosary will be held on March 21, 2012 at Swan Law Funeral Directors 501 N. Cascade, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The viewing will start at 5PM with Rosary at 6 PM.
The Memorial Mass followed on March 22, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado at 10 AM.
